Clear2018 Conference: The 4th International Conference on
Contaminated Land, Ecological Assessment and Remediation 2018
Land contamination has been one of the critical concerns in Hong Kong and overseas countries, given the massive industrial and commercial activities in the past and present. It has posed significant human health risks and raised critical food security concerns, restraining the reuse of lands for valuable purposes, e.g., housing in particular for Hong Kong. This proposed conference will offer a timely opportunity for knowledge exchange among professionals across the world to advance the management agenda for contaminated sites in the local context, which satisfies the environmental compatibility, financial feasibility and social needs. It will deliberate state-of-the-art remediation technologies, comprehensive ecological/risk assessments, and managerial issues. Local and overseas experts from different sectors including academic researchers, industrial practitioners, green groups, and governmental departments will be gathered to solicit scientific and technical inputs as well as political feedback. The specific objectives of the conference are shown below.
Facilitate information exchange, knowledge transfer, and idea stimulation among overseas and local experts;
Encourage collaborations among academics, industrial sectors, green groups, and governmental bodies at local and international level to develop and exercise novel assessments and remediation practices in fields;
Promote awareness and knowledge of contamination and remediation of soils, sediment, and groundwater among stakeholders.
